As usual, this week's live online chat -- which will be held on Thursday, August 2 -- promises to be a rip-roaring, fun-filled, roller-coaster thrill ride of thrust-and-parry ideas. Last week we had a really good time discussing... well, all sorts of things, really. What? You missed it? Don’t worry -- turn that frown upside down into a smile, because you can see our archived discussions by clicking here.
And as for this week's chat, I can safely say that I don’t have a clue what we will be talking about (and you can quote me on that). The great thing about All Programmable Planet is that everyone has so much input and such interesting ideas, that someone will set a conversational ball rolling and everyone else will race around adding different thoughts and perspectives.
Having said this, I would like us to bounce thoughts and ideas around about the ongoing blog series, considering the sorts of topics we would like to see covered in the not-so-distant future.
The "chat" -- which is similar to using an IM (instant messaging) system, but which actually employs your Web browser -- will commence at 12:00 p.m. my time (Central Time), which is 1:00 p.m. Eastern Time, 10:00 a.m. Pacific Time, and 6:00 p.m. UTC/GMT in Sheffield, England, where my dear old mom hangs her hat.
So, assuming you are already a member of All Programmable Planet, all you have to do is to click here at the appropriate time to join the fun and make your opinions known. (If you aren’t already a member of All Programmable Planet, now would be a perfect time to register.)
As a beginner and relative new comer to All Programmable Planet, I been trying to find out the customs and accepted practices before bombarding everyone with too many posts.
That said, the site seems to have a welcoming attitude to beginners and everyone seems to have a healthy and robust sense of humour.
It will be interesting to see if the community can withstand my thought processes as time goes by.
Crusty, if your article is not enough for a blog, you can post it as a user generated Board. Below this post right hand side, there is a link for "Start a Board". You can post the content there and it will reflect as a independent message board, where members can post their comments. You will also get notified, when members are adding comment to your message board.

@Crusty: "At my age it's rare that I can focus on anything."
Tell me about it -- but it can be advantageous when talking to the wife -- the trick is to knwo when to grunt in an affermitive or consoling manner :-)
Pah thats nothing I get up at 5.30 everyday to ride, at close to the speed of light, down to the gym, then I ride into work, slave away over a luke warm keyboard all day, ride back to the gym, ride home,
In fact I get so close to the speed of light on my bike that I meet myself gong home again.
