Re: Big Brother Is Here for sure
Most HD TVs have a 16:9 or "widescreen" aspect ratio. This is wider than some TV shows and movies made before the mid-1950s: when you watch them, you'll get either a distorted image or a pair of black bars on either side of your screen.

the black bars are fine.

The stretched and distorted image, which makes (American) football players look short, squat and wide, is unacceptable, yet every sports bar in this country has a standard-def cable-TV feed plugged into their super-size screens and they all look like shit.

What's worse is that nobody seems to care, or even notice.

Re: Big Brother Is Here for sure
HD televisions typically require an HDMI cable to receive a high definition signal, or an HD tuner if you are pulling your signal in from an antenna. Without them, it's difficult to take advantage of high-def TV.

Re: Big Brother Is Here for sure
The problem with high definition is not much TV broadcasting companies have high graphics for HD, most of them broadcast at a lower quality rate.

@Max yes I'm pretty sure that prices of high definition TV's would come down very soon.

The price of the LG 84 inch seems to be $19,999. I mean who would buy a TV for that price.

Wow that's the best LG launched 84-inch UHDTV display. I am really curious to find out who buys them. You would definitely require a large TV lounge.

I am shocked and horrified. It appears that those little scamps at Planet Analog are writing blogs pertaining to field-programmable issues.
